TRAINING IN OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORK DESIGN

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The expansion of FTTH installation projects in Africa requires a skilled workforce. This course is designed to give engineers, network designers and field personnel the in-depth skills they need to design effective FTTx networks.

This course covers FTTH network field configurations, design tests and installation parameters for active Ethernet and PON systems.

Participants will create their own FTTx network designs in hands-on sessions, applying the selected objectives.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

This course prepares participants for all aspects of fiber optic cable installation in a local and wide area network environment. Participants build, test and troubleshoot a complete system in this course. Also taught are the use of equipment, materials and procedures for in-building fiber optic distribution. Both multimode and singlemode fiber types are covered.
