From May 20 to 22, 2026, ESATIC hosted the 1st edition of the Scientific Conference on Information and Communication Technologies (CoSTIC 2026), centered around the theme: «Digital Technology for Sustainable Development in Africa.».
This major scientific meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, Mr. Djibril OUATTARA, represented by the Inspector General, Mr. KONE Famaria, and under the patronage of the Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), Brigadier General Guelpétchin OUATTARA.
At the opening of the colloquium, the Director General of ESATIC, Professor KONATE Adama, welcomed the researchers, experts, and digital professionals who came to share their experiences and reflections. He emphasized that CoSTIC aims to contribute to the digital evolution of Côte d'Ivoire as well as to the strengthening of innovation and scientific research in the service of sustainable development.
During the official launch, the Inspector General highlighted the strategic role of ICT in transforming African societies. As a true driver of innovation, digital technology today promotes job creation, digital inclusion, the improvement of public services, and the economic development of the continent. He praised the ESATIC initiative, which contributes to promoting scientific research and exchanges around the challenges of digital technology in Africa.
For three days, participants took part in hackathons, high-level panels, scientific presentations, and thematic conferences focusing on the challenges and opportunities of digital technology.
This first edition of CoSTIC concludes with the aim of making this conference an essential platform for reflection, innovation, and collaboration for the development of digital technologies in Africa.
