Professor KONATE Adama was born on July 7, 1967 at 7 a.m. at the Boundiali maternity hospital in the Bagoué region of northern Côte d'Ivoire. After a brief stint at Koranic school, he enrolled at Gbon public primary school in 1974.

In 1980, he passed his "Entrée en Sixième" at the Catholic elementary school in Zaguinasso and was sent to the Collège d'Enseignement Général in Boundiali. In 1984, he obtained his BEPC and was sent to the Lycée Moderne d'Odienné, where he obtained his Baccalauréat série C in 1987. He graduated top of his class. He then enrolled in Physics and Chemistry at the University of Cocody, where he obtained a Master's degree in Physics in 1991.

He applied for and obtained a grant from the Côte d'Ivoire Higher Education Authority to do a Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies in atomic spectroscopy and laser physics at the Université de Paris 13, Villetaneuse, under the supervision of Professor Jacques BAUDON. After his DEA course, he completed his unique doctoral thesis, under the supervision of Professor Jean MARGERIE, at the Laboratoire de Spectroscopie Atomique in Caen, France, with first-class honors and congratulations from the jury, on December 11, 1995, on the theme: «Laser diode pumping of colored-center lasers emitting in the vicinity of 1.5 µm».

On April 4, 1996, he was appointed Assistant in the Physics Department at the University of Cocody. In 1998, he was promoted to Maître-Assistant and joined the Institut National Polytechnique Houphouët Boigny (INPHB) in Yamoussoukro. In 1999, he was decorated Chevalier dans l'Ordre du Mérite de l'Education Nationale, for his major efforts to boost school enrolment, particularly among girls, in the Gbon and Kouto sub-prefectures in the Bagoué region.

That same year, he was asked by the Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training to head up the Lycée Technique de Yopougon, where training for the Brevet de Technicien Supérieur en Qualité dans les industries Agro-alimentaires was launched. In his four years at the school, he raised the baccalaureate pass rate from 19% in 1999 to 71.2% in 2003. He returned to the INPHB the same year, to teach physics in the preparatory cycle.

In 2006, he was appointed Director of SME Promotion at the Ministry of Industry and Private Sector Promotion. He coordinates the activities of the UEMOA committee for the promotion and financing of SMEs.

After the 2010 post-election crisis, he was promoted to Deputy Cabinet Director of the Minister of Crafts and SME Promotion in June 2011.

On May 23, 2012, he was appointed Managing Director of the Ecole Supérieure Africaine des Technologies de l'Information et de la Communication.

In 2016 he graduated from Barcelona's IESE Business School's Advanced Management Program in partnership with Abidjan's MDE Business School, and in the same year obtained his Master of Lectures.

In 2017, he was elevated to the rank of Officier de l'Ordre National by the President of the Republic.

In 2018, he graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration Publique du Quebec in partnership with MDE Business School in Abidjan. The same year, he was elevated to the rank of Commandeur in the Ordre du Mérite de l'Education Nationale de Côte d'Ivoire.

In 2020, he was elevated to the rank of Commandeur in the Ordre de l'Economie Numérique et de la Poste.

In July 2022, he applied to CAMES and obtained the rank of full professor at CAMES universities.

In 2023, he was elevated to the rank of Commander in the Order of Merit of the Civil Service of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.

He has passed the Caen Red Cross first aid certificate. He is married with four children. He sits on the Board of Directors of several companies as an outside personality.

Professor KONATE Adama intends to put all the experience he has acquired in administration and teaching at the disposal of ESATIC, to make it a center of excellence in ICT.
