ESATIC wins top prize in Y'ello Hackathon's technological innovation competition

Three women's teams from the Ecole supérieure africaine des technologies de l'information et de la communication (ESATIC) and the Institut national polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny (INPHB) were the winners of the second edition of the Y'ello Hackathon on the theme of «Artificial Intelligence (AI) and connected objects (IoT): converging innovations».

won the competition with a project called «AquaSante», which proposed an artificial fish robot to monitor the living conditions of tilapia fish in aquatic environments and detect disease.

Launched on March 7 to mark Women's Rights Day, the 2e edition of the Y'ello Hackathon competition has benefited from a total investment of 29 million FCFA. Through this investment, the telecommunications company reaffirms its determination to promote female excellence by creating an environment conducive to their contribution to the economic and social development of Côte d'Ivoire.

Organized by MTN Ivory Coast, from April 24 to 26, 2024 at the Y'ello Lab at Yamoussoukro's INPHB, this competition aims to reduce the gender gap in the AI and IoT sectors, while encouraging female participation and providing young women with a platform for expressing ideas and developing skills in these forward-looking sectors, according to a statement sent to AIP.
